So it will have some small stretches of unlimited speed, while either being limited or completely stalled due to construction on most other parts? Sounds like a realistic analogy…

The Autobahn Network
The Autobahn Network serves as the core layer of the Tixl ecosystem. It is a layer 1 network with integrated layer 2 capabilities. It was named after the German Autobahn due to the speed that elements (cars) or transactions, respectively, can move along it.
In other networks, transactions are either expensive, slow or not interoperable. Tixl’s Autobahn solves all of those pain points. It is built as a special Directed, Acyclical Graph (DAG) working with the Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP):
A unique feature of the Autobahn Network is that it supports bridging assets from other chains – such as BTC, ETH, ERC-20 or any other tokens of connected networks – into the Network. These other assets can be transferred into the Autobahn Network and are treated like pegged assets. More details about this implementation can be found in the technology chapter.
Most cryptocurrencies in general, and especially BTC and ETH, cannot be sent back and forth efficiently. Transactions are either slow, expensive and/or not interoperable. Solutions like the Bitcoin Lightning Network have not yet gained traction due to weaknesses in their conceptual and technical design. On Ethereum, Gas Fees can rise sharply.
By employing the most sophisticated technologies that have emerged from the blockchain world over recent years, the German-engineered Autobahn Network has been designed from the ground up to specifically address these current challenges. Users of a digital asset want to swap to any other token independent of the originating chain and pay the lowest transaction fees possible – the higher the fee, the lower the potential for widespread adoption. Plus, if a future digital asset is slow in terms of transaction speed, it is not a future asset.
Interoperable Smart Contracts & dApps
Having a scalable Autobahn Network technology is the base. Adoption, however, is only coming through opening up the technology to developers who can build dApps on top of it. That’s why we are currently working on offering fully interoperable Smart Contracts.
The interoperable dApps & Smart Contracts can be called from any connected platform (i.e. Bitcoin, Ethereum, BSC or Polkadot). Example use cases can be found in all areas: DeFi, NFTs, Voting & Election, Gaming, etc.The Autobahn Network
